Arbor is seeking a new children’s ministry contract staffer. Here are the details:

Job Description
The Children’s Ministry Leader (CML) position has three areas of focus as follows:
- Program development, volunteer recruitment, and scheduling.
- Providing direct teaching and activity leadership for children on a selective basis.
- Outreach and hospitality towards children and families, fostering their participation in children ministry activities and in the life of the church. The initial focus will be on families with existing connections to Arbor, children within Arbor Hills/Leopold Neighborhood, and Creek Families.
This position reports to the Pastor. Bi-monthly coordination meetings with the Pastor and the Social Media director the initial plan to both assist in program planning and to help with messaging and outreach. The CML will work on an ongoing basis with a Children Ministry Committee which is initially made up of the Children’s Church teachers. Initial members of the committee are Joyce Boggess, Ruth Hallblade, Mark Hanson, and one more person to be identified.
Qualifications:
- Arbor is initially seeking someone from the congregation to fill this position.
- Experience in working with youth, including in Christian settings such as Sunday School, Christian camping, and other Christian youth programs.
- Strong interpersonal communications
- Commitment to children’s ministry
Duties:
- Participation and outreach in the coordination of annual VBS (this year August 15 to 18, 2017)
- Coordination of Children’s Christmas Program
- Coordination of children’s Easter Program
- Work with Pastor and Committee in designing and providing an experimental Friday dinner time program (approximately 5 to 7 pm) to be held at least once per month.
- Work with Pastor and Committee in design and providing Children’s church or other Christian education programs on Sunday morning.
- Delegation of responsibilities with volunteers
Time Commitment and Compensation:
- Up to 10 hours per week
- $25 per hour depending on experience
Work will begin approximately August 8, 2017
